Mar Del Plata, Argentina

Mar Del Plata , beach front city, southeastern Buenos Aires provincia (area), east-focal Argentina. It is situated on the Atlantic Ocean drift around 230 miles (370 km) south-southeast of Buenos Aires city.  Read Also:  Khao Lak, Thailand Juan de Garay , the second originator of Buenos Aires, initially investigated the beach front range of Mar del Plata in 1581. In 1746 Father Thomas Falkner and Father José Cardiel established the Indian work mission Nuestra Señora del Pilar ("Our Lady of Pilar") at the site of the present-day city. Dread of assault by the Indian boss Cangapol brought on the mission to be surrendered in 1751.  The Portuguese traveler José Coelho de Meyrelles, allowed arrive as poblador (pioneer) of Mar del Plata, colonized the area in 1856, setting up an angling town, La Peregrina ("The Pilgrim"). Meyrelles began the primary meat-salting plant in the territory in 1857. Meat salting stayed critical all through the Buenos Aires area
